ONE BLUE project reached last Friday, 8th November the “4th REMEDIES Cluster Meeting “(Micro)plastics: How to Prepare for Tomorrow” celebrated in Ljubljana (Slovenia). Organized during Science Month by the National Institute of Chemistry and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Slovenia and thanks to the invitation of the REMEDIES project, we presented the highlights of 2024 concerning ONE-BLUE.

Jon Larratxea, Communication Officer of the project and in the ONE-BLUE partner FINNOVA FOUNDATION explained the different campaigns that the project has developed in the Arctic Ocean, the Irish Sea and the North Adriatic Sea. Framed in the “Synergies between Mission Ocean & Waters Projects” panel, we had the chance to showcase ONE-BLUE among stakeholders and to hear about other EU-funded projects that also focus on the investigation of (micro)plastics and the strategies needed to address related challenges effectively.

This event let participants engage with leading experts, exchange ideas, and explore actionable strategies to address one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. Thanks to the line-up of prestigious speakers and expert panellists, the debates delved into the future frameworks designed to tackle the pervasive issue of (micro)plastics.

ONE-BLUE, creating synergies

Our project has reached this event thanks to the invitation of REMEDIES, Horizon Europe programme-funded project that aims to create innovative solutions and technologies to monitor, collect, prevent and valorise (micro)plastic from oceans. This collaboration with this project started back in June 2024, as REMEDIES was one of the speakers of our webinar earmarked in the EU Green Week.
