ONE-BLUE participates in Greencities 2026 in Málaga

  • The project, represented by Finnova Foundation, joined the event to raise awareness of its research on emerging contaminants and connect with stakeholders working on sustainability and environmental innovation.

Málaga, September 2026. The European project ONE-BLUE participated in Greencities, Urban Intelligence & Smart Mobility, held on 15–16 September at FYCMA in Málaga. The event brought together representatives from cities, public administrations, companies, research organisations and innovation networks to exchange knowledge and explore solutions for more sustainable and resilient territories.

Represented by Finnova Foundation, ONE-BLUE was present at the event to showcase the project and its work to improve knowledge about contaminants of emerging concern in marine and coastal environments. The project investigates the presence, distribution and potential impacts of pollutants such as PFAS, pharmaceuticals, plastic-related compounds and micro- and nanoplastics across European marine ecosystems.

Participation in Greencities provided an opportunity to connect ONE-BLUE’s marine research with wider discussions on environmental sustainability, climate resilience and European innovation, as well as to identify potential synergies with other initiatives and organisations.

By taking part in events such as Greencities, ONE-BLUE continues to bring its scientific work closer to different sectors and stakeholders and to promote collaboration around the protection and resilience of Europe’s seas and coastal areas.
