ONE-BLUE partner CYRIC attended the BEYOND International Digital Technology and Innovation Fair, held in Athens from April 4 to 6, to present its role in the project. CYRIC team attended this fair to present the IoT solutions and how they deploy them in ONE-BLUE.
CYRIC, as part of its expertise, is in charge of preparing prototypes for antibiotic residue detection. First, they will develop sample preparation modules using an automated filter exchange mechanism, suitable for use with buoy systems. Next, the IoT controller module will also support data logging to support wireless data communications via dual-mode terrestrial and satellite links. Finally, the system will be fully integrated with ONE-BLUE partner INL antibiotic residue sensor to perform various water measurements without human intervention, resulting in a smart buoy system for maritime/ocean monitoring.
This technology was showcased at this exhibition, which was attended by more than 15,000 attendees over its three-day duration. It hosted technology leaders, startups, research centres and universities, as well as pioneers and visionaries of the industry, serving as a springboard for networking and constructive contacts.
Our presence at these kinds of events confirms the importance of the activities and tools that we are developing in ONE-BLUE. In addition, it is a great opportunity to meet other projects and initiatives that are also innovating to support the protection of the environment and more specifically, marine biodiversity and biota.
