The ONE BLUE Project will be part of the European Green Week 2024, organised by the European Commission to raise awareness, promote and debate European environmental policy. The Project will present the webinar “ONE-BLUE: Synergies for the Protection of the Oceans and the Marine Environment” on Thursday, 6 June, from 10:00h to 12:00h (CEST), which will serve as a presentation of this project funded by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe programme.
This year, the theme of this commemorative week is “Towards a Water Resilient Europe”, whereby activities focused on the care, management and protection of water will gain importance, to foster a European debate on water. Water mismanagement, pollution and the degradation of ecosystems make it necessary to propose solutions that address these problems to protect a vital resource such as water.
The webinar will serve as a meeting point for stakeholders from the sector, such as the project partners themselves, environmental agencies, researchers, scientists, and other European projects, among others.
The webinar will be divided into four blocks that will serve to learn about the main lines of action of the project and other similar initiatives that also receive European funding. The first two blocks will be focused on the ONE-BLUE project and its research in the Mediterranean Sea, the Arctic Ocean, the Arctic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
The second part of the webinar will serve as a meeting point with other projects and organizations working to protect the oceans. In this way, ONE-BLUE will be able to interact directly with projects related to its field of work and with which it can establish valuable synergies that will be key to its dissemination and exploitation.
